Summary:
Performs technical laboratory work in a scientific research laboratory. Responsibilities include performing experiments and assisting a senior researcher using cell biology and molecular biology techniques. These tasks will include such things as Cell culturing (maintaining cell lines, passaging, transfection, electroporation), DNA purification using mini/midi/maxi prep kits for mammalian cells and E.coli, PCR, E. coli transformation (electroporation, heat shock), making media and agar plates for bacterial culture, and FACS (Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting).

Salary range for this position is $37,364 - $47,814 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in a science-related field; or
2. Associate's degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time laboratory experience; or
3. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time laboratory experience.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have their Bachelor's degree or Associates with 2 years experience, will be familiar with a personal computer and related laboratory information systems, Cell culturing (maintaining cell lines, passaging, transfection, electroporation), experience with DNA purification using mini/midi/maxi prep kits for mammalian cells and E.coli, prior PCR, E. coli transformation (electroporation, heat shock) experience, prior FACS (Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting) and experience making media and agar plates for bacterial culture.
