We design, manufacture, and install vehicle equipment for every kind of fleet.

Holman's Manufacturing and Distribution division has a great opportunity for a Lead Installation Mechanic to join our team in Bartlett, IL.
  • Shift: 6 am to 2:30 pm
  • Pay: Up to $27.50 per hour, depending on experience

What will you do?
  • Lead, plan, and train the department staff responsible for performing a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled technical diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work.
  • Responsible for performing some of the most complex work in the department as well as administrative support duties.
  • Train assigned employees in maintenance and repair methods, procedures, and techniques.
  • Verifies work performed for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Serve as a mentor/resource to other employees in the department for complicated issues.
  • Mount and connect mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, crane systems and controls.
  • Install hy-rail components and crane on vehicles.
  • Build a variety of parts, install boxes and special components for design of truck.
  • Fill vehicle systems with proper fluids for safe and proper operation.
  • Test the action of moving parts prior to final inspection.
  • Verify all line items have been completed on the work order.
  • Perform a quality visual inspection of vehicle, pre-delivery, or dealer prepping, as well as checking chassis for problems, such as leaks, errors or bad manufacturing.

What are we looking for?
  • 3 - 5 years of mechanical, hydraulic and/or welding experience required.
  • Able to MIG weld clean - horizontal, downhill and overhead passes.
  • Perform quality and critical welds and pass welding tests on a continual basis.
  • Able to use a cutting torch, plasma cutter and electrical/power tools correctly.
  • Must have adequate tools to complete assigned duties and able to correctly use all required safety equipment.
  • Perform within the established company standards, which include but are not limited to standard operating procedures, quality and performance.
  • Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic problems.
  • Able to wire off a diagram on any and all work equipment.
  • Aide in the design and implementation of new vehicle electrical features.
  • Possess the ability to gain the knowledge and understanding of work orders.
  • Ability to flux core weld clean - horizontal, downhill and overhead passes AWS certification - recommend obtaining.
  • ASE certification - E1, E2 and E3 certifications are not required, but are considered a plus.
