This can be a remote position; the selected candidate can reside and perform the work from anywhere within the United States.

The Role:

The position of Lead - Performance Enablement and Employee Listening exists within 'Global Talent Community of Excellence' of the Global HR organization of General Motors. This position has prime responsibility to keep Performance Enablement and Employee Listening as the most contemporary and forward-looking solutions that result into a greater organizational and individual performance impact and employee engagement.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Lead the vision for performance enablement at General Motors. This includes end-to-end process management including goal setting and review processes. Currently limited to the salaried population with scope to expand to other employee groups in the next 1-2 years
  • Provide thought leadership and a strategic lens to continuously evolve listening frameworks, strategies, and practices
  • Apply sophisticated research and analytical strategies to advance GM's understanding of the employee experience to deliver useful insights and solutions in the domain of performance enablement end employee listening
  • Design and implement periodical engagement survey programs and pulse surveys that address emerging business needs
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis and insights on engagement to drive people leader accountability to be a best in class company in employee engagement
  • Consult with HR leaders and business units on all topics of engagement and feedback. Provide data insights for their function, compare to external trends and delivery action-oriented solutions that can aid with positive progress
  • Present performance process updates and engagement/pulse results to HR, leaders and employees in large scale forums and one on one settings
  • Evaluate and partner with vendor partners (where required) to deliver solutions in the domain of performance enablement and employee listening
  • Collaborate with HR operations team to establish and sustain a coherence of performance enablement and employee listening processes with the technology to convert performance process administration to performance experience
  • Collaborate with functional/regional/country HR contacts to invite feedback in advance of developing a new solution, tool, or a process
  • Extend team leadership to develop a sense of purpose and belonging. Evaluate skill gaps in the team and enable them to develop skills required for future in the learning domain
  • Provide periodic actionable feedback to the team members for their individual development. Explore opportunities for the team to develop new skills thru stretch assignments, projects, and job rotations

Additional Job Description

Experience & Qualifications:

12-15 years of corporate experience that includes:
  • Working experience in Talent Management/ HR domain
  • Experience in managing global stakeholders and leading diverse teams
  • Cross functional working experience preferred
  • Phd or Master's degree in any of these fields or related; IO Psychology, Statistics, Quantitative Methods

  • Invests in building and maintaining a series of relationships throughout the organization, to facilitate productive collaboration for both the aim of accomplishing goals and in anticipation of being able to drive undefined potential goals forward
  • Seeks common ground and sources of agreement between self and diverse multiple stakeholders (primarily internal), to influence more broadly and do the best for all

    • Can take complex information and articulate it in a meaningful way that is comprehensive for the masses

Compensation: The median level of salary compensation for this role as a full-time employee is $154,500.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
