SUMMARY:

The Lead QA Automation Engineer / SDET responsibilities include both software development and testing tasks. This position requires advance programming skills that creates automation testing tools and frameworks to assist the manual testing process for production software.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

• Design and develop tests, tools and frameworks to enable reduction of manual testing.
• Leads the solution delivery and implementation of programs and projects
• Responsible for test creation, testing a large module and/or a large component.
• Design and develop UI, integration, regression, performance and other testing
• Works closely with development team to build/maintain .Net test framework.
• Comfortable and adaptable in a fast-pace environment with a go-getter attitude.
• Manually execute testing, if required.
• Identifies test approaches, coverage, and requirement gaps and risks.
• Ensures quality measures are included in the initial project design.
• Writes detailed test strategies and plans, making full use of different test estimation techniques in assessing best balance of coverage and efficiency for a project.
• Ensures requirements traceability in the team and identifies areas for improvement.
• Develops, executes, and analyzes the output from scripts that capture application and platform quality metrics.
• Troubleshoots errors found in the test environment with help from Development teams.
• Raises quality issues to right levels of management using established channels of escalation.
• May be responsible for providing technical leadership in multiple phases of a project, ensuring coordination of multiple assignments to completion and escalating key decision points that deviate from the provided technical direction.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company's learning philosophy, is required. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.

EXPERIENCE:

Five years or more of experience in software automation testing or relevant experience which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities. Knowledge of programming languages (C#) and process management methodology.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:

• Expertise in test automation Selenium Webdriver C#, NUnit, extent reports, Jenkins CI/CD pipeline.
• Experience with performance, stress and load testing.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and planning skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Ability to work constructively with other technical experts in a group setting
• Expert technology stack /platform proficiency: C#, .Net, SQL server, and Visual Studio
• Knowledge of HTML 5 based UX
• Working knowledge of ASP.NET and exposure to user controls, custom controls, and ASP.Net AJAX.
• Skilled in Web Services (SOAP or REST based).
• Knowledge of Relational database design.
• Knowledge of Test Management and Defect Management Tools.
• Experience with any nodeJS/Javascript testing frameworks preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.
