Department / Division Introduction

The College is looking for a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker with supervisory experience. Reporting to the Associate Director of Mental Health Counseling and Wellness, the Social Worker will provide crisis intervention, assessment, short-term counseling, referrals, group work, maintain a caseload of students and supervision.

Additionally, the Social Worker will supervise Masters' level Social Work Interns, providing individual and group supervision as required by Council on Social Work Education, the State of New Jersey and the specific universities' guidelines.

The Social Worker will work with the Associate Director to enhance mental health services to all students, engage the local community, partner with city, county and state agencies to provide further opportunities for Hudson County Community College.

Position Summary / Requirements

Minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work, with a current LCSW in the State of New Jersey. Dual licensure in NJ and NY would be helpful. Candidate should have at least 3-5 years of experience. SIFI certification and Supervisor certification are required or eligibility for credentialing within 3 months of hire. Superior verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills required. Experience working with a culturally and socioeconomically diverse student population is highly desirable. Proficiency with various computer software programs including Microsoft Office suite, Ellucian-Colleague, Titanium or other Medical Records software. The role requires the ability to integrate data-informed decision-making and evidence-based practices into daily work. Ability to speak Arabic or Spanish preferred, but not required.

Demonstrated ability to interact with a culturally diverse population and to effectively and respectfully function and communicate within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
