Ketchum Health Medical Clinic is searching for a skilled, experienced, and certified limited x-ray technician and medical assistant to join our dynamic team. This position entails two jobs to be performed simultaneously, or at single times by the hired individual as assigned by the clinic director.

As the limited x-ray technician, the candidate will perform diagnostic radiographic services, which will produce clear and accurate x-ray images according to the clinic's protocols and California (CA) state laws. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in radiology, knowledge of anatomy, adherence of safety protocols and procedures, and a desire to assist patients from a variety of ages, diverse cultural backgrounds, and with different health conditions that require radiologic imaging.

As a medical assistant for the clinic, the candidate will perform various clinical duties to keep the clinic running efficiently, such as assisting in basic examinations and minor procedures, relaying information or instructions to patients, collecting test samples, and maintaining patient rooms clean and stocked. The candidate will work together with other clinic personnel to provide high quality patient care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Limited X-Ray Technician (40%)
  • Perform tasks permitted by their certification and obeys CA state laws that pertain to their position and follows clinic and medical practice policies and procedures and performs tasks.
  • Prepares patients for radiologic examinations by explaining procedures, positioning patients appropriately, and applying protective equipment to minimize exposure.
  • Conducts diagnostic radiographic services on patients with precision and care, ensuring minimal radiation exposure and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Produces clear and accurate x-ray images of different body parts.
  • Operates/maintains x-ray equipment, ensuring functionality, cleanliness, & compliance with health/safety policies.
  • Coordinates dosimeter collection and radiation exposure metrics.
  • Works closely with the clinic's Radiography X-Ray Supervisor and Operator to make sure that the x-ray equipment is being maintained properly, and that all protocols, procedures, and CA state laws are being followed.
  • Knowledgeable on submitting x-ray images to radiology reading services for x-ray interpretation and ability to retrieve reports with results.
  • Collaborates with clinic providers and other healthcare professionals when discussion of x-ray findings is needed.
  • Maintains accurate patient x-ray records, including information about radiologic procedures performed, patient histories, and imaging results, in accordance with HIPAA regulations, clinic policies, and CA laws.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
  • Fulfils other duties as assigned by clinic director, medical providers, and other clinic personnel.
Medical Assistant (60%)
  • Provide clinical and technical support assisting clinic director, medical provider in the provision of medical care to
  • patients for full scope of services while adhering to clinic and medical practice policies and procedures; upholding
  • confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform patient care Clinical duties include, but not limited to; preparing patients for examination or medical
  • procedure, assist physician during examination and coordinating patient treatment plan at time of discharge.
  • Administer injections including immunizations, performs blood draws, EKGs, PPD tests, and other tests as directed;
  • and medications under the supervision of licensed medical providers.
  • Maintain clinic laboratory clean and stocked; accurately runs requested diagnostic point of service tests in the clinic's
  • Laboratory.
  • Interprets for medical provider if knows a second language that patients speak as needed.
  • Aids with front office tasks including checking patients in and out during visits, verifying patient health plan coverage/eligibility, and aids with administrative and clerical work as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by clinic director, medical providers, and other clinic employees.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
    Knowledge of x-ray equipment, radiologic safety, and protection measures. and/or urgent care site. Experience with using medical equipment. Basic computer skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    High School degree or general education degree (GED). Certification as a limited x-ray technician in the state of California, including the completion of an approved educational program and passing the California State Examination. Current AHA CPR and First Aid Certification. A minimum of 1 year of experience in an outpatient medical clinic or hospital setting as a limited x-ray technician. A minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience as a medical assistant, preferably in an outpatient primary care. Minimum 6 months experience working with an Electronic Medical Record system, preferably Nextgen Office EHR.
