Please Note: Starting pay is $21.45/HR for 1st shift and $23.45/HR for 2nd shift.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Harvest Room Labor is responsible for hanging live birds on conveyer shackles at a rate of 24 birds per minute. The work environment in Live Hang is dark and very dusty as the birds come straight from the farm to our hanging pen. The job requires stamina as it is a fast pace job which require hanging heavy chickens. Interested candidates must not be afraid to pick up and handle dirty birds. Must be physically fit to handle the fast pace environment.

DUTIES:

1. Grab, lift and hang birds by their legs on moving conveyor shackles.

2. May be required to assist supervisor in clean-up operations.

3. Rotate work stations with other Live Hangers

4. Constant repetitive bending and twisting of back while hanging birds, lifting 6-8 lbs birds.

5. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be able to perform the essential job functions.

2. Must be willing to work from Monday to Friday, weekend work may be required.

3. Must not have 5 or more attendance points.

4. Must not have a written warning within the last 6 months.

5. Must not have had a written suspension within the last 12 months.

6. Must be past probation period

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Must be able to perform duties while standing for duration of shift.

2. Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.

3. Must be able to handle 6 lb live birds continuously throughout shift.

4. Must be able to hang 24 birds per minute.

5. Must be able to work in a dark and very dusty environment.
