Overview

This position supports the Global Logistics Operations, supporting HbI's Global Supply Chain. Logistics Admin are acting logistics subject matter experts and liaison for problem resolution and exception management between global logistic partners, carriers, internally and externally managed shipping, receiving, and manufacturing facilities, and the HbI business unit to ensure the on time and accurate movement of goods. This position is also responsible for the reviewing and/or creating of US and Foreign Customs documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the on-time movement of products/equipment/materials globally in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with the relevant local, country and international law and process.
  • Effectively communicate daily and as needed operational updates verbally, via e-mail, and via telephone with internal and external global supply chain partners and customers. The global contacts include, but are not limited to; defined textile and supply shippers, purchasing personnel, cost accounting, trade compliance, ocean carrier, inland carriers, and third party logistics providers (3PL's).
  • As required, responsible for inputting key data into export/import documentation systems.
  • Support and execute optimal transportation and logistics routings for all modes of transportation, including oversized and overweight freight within the guidelines of the department and adhering to all associates regulatory agencies.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize daily logistics task and responsibilities.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute logistics procedures and proactively identify logistics/transportation/documentation compliance issues and support the facilitation of corrective action.
  • Liaise with other departments in order to execute effective and relevant logistical activities and support in relation to the organization's sales, purchasing, materials management, production and overall operating functions.
  • Develop self through classes, seminars, and/or organizational events in order to stay current in a global logistics environment.

Qualifications

Experience/Skills/Education Requirements:
  • Education/Degrees: Bachelor Degree preferred with preference in Supply Chain management and/or Logistics. In lieu of degree, HS Diploma with 1-3 years relevant experience.
  • Certificates/Licenses: N/A
  • Special Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Suite with proven ability utilizing excel,
    and the ability to learn and utilize various types of software/information systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Years of experience 1 to 3 years
  • Type of experience: Experience in logistics, transportation, customs, international trade, manufacturing, and/or distribution.
  • Required travel: 5% or less
Preferred experience, skills, and education that are not required for job but beneficial to role (i.e. bi-lingual).
  • Experience with exporting and/or importing via various ports of entry and modes of transportation.
  • Knowledge of organizational supply chain and systems
  • Knowledge of trade programs related to textile and apparel
