Responsibilities

Responsible for the definition and integration of precision machine controls, vehicle system & function automation and autonomy technology to solve customer use cases and optimize the effectiveness and profitability of the machine. Collaborates with engineering teams within Vehicle Electronics, Construction Equipment Product Engineering, Precision Solutions and Advanced Technologies & Innovation to define, develop and integrate automated solutions that are easy to use and operate into construction equipment vehicles. Collaborates with strategic partners and suppliers for new controls development and integration for Construction Equipment including precision controls, automation and autonomy. Works closely with the Construction Equipment Digital Solutions team, CE Product Engineering, VE Construction Integration team, Suppliers & Technology Partners, Hardware and Software Core team, Design Analysis and Simulation team and Test Lab during the design and development of Vehicle control solutions.

Qualifications

The Qualified Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or another related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in off-road or automotive industry with ADAS, automation, robotics or autonomous product development
  • Agricultural or Construction Equipment background or relev* ant experience in off road machinery engineering.
  • Experience in the use of 3D Engineering design software (Solid Works/Creo/Catia).

The Preferred Candidate will have:
  • Master's Degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Mechanical engineering or similar fields
  • Experience in vehicle design and development of advanced controls including Artificial Intelligence, Non-linear and Adaptive controls.
  • Experience in Vehicle system EE engineering; preferable in Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering
  • Experience with System Engineering.
  • Ideal candidates will have strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, solid background in ADAS systems, a history of implementing sensor fusion algorithms, and experience with deploying perception solutions for autonomous vehicles.
  • Experience with multiple sensor systems such as LIDAR, RADAR, cameras, etc. including experience with in-vehicle hardware validation/verification with systems such as lidar, radar, cameras, GPS, IMUs, etc
  • Delivering complex multidisciplinary systems with hardware, embedded software, application software and mechanical components
  • Ability to work with tight deadline and under pressure
  • Ability to work transversally with different teams and interface easily with other engineering disciplines
  • Experience working on a team-based project from inception to demonstration across multiple disciplines, e.g., hardware design and implementation, data acquisition and analysis, mathematical modeling, algorithm development, application implementation, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Good communication and personal organization/control skills
  • Up to date with evolving automation and autonomous technology and suppliers.
