Position Summary

The Electrical/Maintenance Crew Chief will be responsible for the supervision and administration of the Carolina Region Maintenance Support Team covering the Charlotte market. Coverage includes electrical and mechanical maintenance on both plants and mobile equipment.

Requirements

  • Manage electricians, plant maintenance, welding, project management, mobile equipment repairs, and operational excellence improvement implementation
  • Coordinates repairs to plant equipment such as mobile equipment, conveyors, stone crushers, dust collectors, electrical plant equipment, sewage treatment equipment, and new installations of similar type equipment
  • Collaborates with operations to optimize cost savings, reduce production downtime and reduce maintenance costs
  • Supervises, inspects, troubleshoot, and performs electrical construction, maintenance and services to ensure that work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes
  • Establishes repair and preventive maintenance schedules to efficiently service operations, and procures contract assistance where required to do so
  • Directly supervise maintenance personnel including information systems
  • Must adhere to all Company policies and practices including ethics, safety and business confidentiality
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; electrical preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' manufacturing electrical and mechanical maintenance experience preferably in mining, aggregates, lime, or related industry
  • Experience with material handling and process design systems; knowledge of crushing and conveyor equipment required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have strong electrical and power background
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills; proven track record for creating employee ownership of safety, quality and production
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; good planning skills
  • Proficient computer skills; JDE experience a plus
  • Experience in PC and PLC preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
