Position open for a Maintenance Supervisor.

Position Purpose:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the planning, setup, movement and maintenance of equipment, and machinery. Assisting in Planning, budgeting and scheduling facility modifications including estimates on equipment, labor materials and other related costs for the Dayton, Ohio locations. The successful Maintenance Supervisor will have a vision to effectively set the department's direction and growth as well as setting specific goals and focus resources to achieve the plant's overall objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in overseeing the coordination of building space allocation and layout, and facility expansion
  • Assists in planning and scheduling facility modifications, including cost estimates
  • Inspects construction and installation progress
  • Supervises the maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and the PM system/schedule
  • Installs, moves, repairs, and removes equipment and utilities as needed
  • Coordinates maintenance staff efforts to establish and maintain an organized and safe work environment
  • Keeps in compliance with and abreast of all OSHA regulations
  • Supervises facility compliance with VPP, Safety and Electrical Standards
  • Permanent member of the plant safety committee
  • Leads and assist with any ISO Certification project
  • Coordinate and oversee contract projects and personnel
  • Supervise up to five (5) maintenance personnel for a standard three-shift operation and supervises the activities of all outside contractors who are working in our plant or on our grounds.
  • Maintain and improve the system to support the manufacturing/operations strategy
  • Establish and maintain repair parts inventory and replenishment system
  • Establish and maintain spare part inventory security procedures
  • Establish and maintain effective work order system
  • Implement effectiveness measure(s)
  • Establish and maintain OEE standards by asset
  • Improve equipment reliability
  • Interface with Manufacturing Engineering for equipment implementation
  • Continual improvement of maintenance personnel and manufacturing system s
  • Stays abreast of current technologies for plant implementation
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and Training
  • Technical training in plant engineering required
  • 3 years of progressive experience and responsibility in a supervisory maintenance position directing a multi-functional maintenance staff in a preferred automotive tier I environment.
  • Equipment launch experience required
  • OSHA 8 hour or higher training preferred
  • Preventative/predictive maintenance systems experience required
  • Documented progressive management responsibility
  • Operational reliability system experience required
  • Tooling and equipment maintenance background required
  • Project Management experience required

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitudes, and a working knowledge of electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Strong supervisory skills, able to recruit & develop people and maintain a positive work environment
  • Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to define problems, and resolve them quickly
  • Familiar with local building codes and OSHA regulations
  • Familiar with the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Familiar with all current VPP health and safety regulations
  • Requires strong supervisory skills, coupled with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations
  • Must be a high energy, self-starter who can work well with people at all levels both in and out of the plant
  • Must be able to provide self transportation between locations
