Position Purpose:

Responsible for the supervision and continued development of the plant Maintenance Department, which entails associates, facility, and equipment. Knowledge of OSHA requirements, procedures and possess excellent problem-solving skills necessary to maintain an orderly work facility.

Essential Functions:

• Drive a safety culture within the department and across the facility. Be proactive in identifying and addressing safety concerns.

• Supervise periodic and incidental machine maintenance to insure its completion in a safe, accurate and timely manner.

• Supervise direct reports activities including work rules, safety programs, attendance, and discipline. Establish and promote a participative environment and pro-active union avoidance program. Seek ways to expand communications and associate involvement.

• Oversee completion of preventative maintenance schedules according to equipment manufacturer's recommendations, while ensuring that necessary components and parts are purchased as required or directed.

• Plan and implement corrective action in conjunction with management direction.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and local, state and federal regulations.

Education and Training

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related degree program preferred. Equivalent experience in applicable area is acceptable.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years mechanical, electrical and hydraulic maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience in a manufacturing setting: welding, fabricating and assembly preferred.

• Experience troubleshooting metal cutting laser/plasma and forming equipment preferred.

• Understanding of PLC systems, familiar with Allen Bradley controls a plus.

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements of OSHA, NEC NFPA and EPA

• Excellent problem solving and communication skills are necessary.

• Ability to use computer applications: Word, Excel, Oulook, QAD, Kronos, others as needed

Physical Demands

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position frequently.

• Frequently need to move about inside office and plant designated area.

• Minimal movement of hands, wrists, or fingers such as typing, filing, and writing.

• Frequently need to position self to lift miscellaneous items.

• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.

• Push/pull 20-40lbs of force 40 feet

Environmental Conditions

• Work environment: office and industrial

• Frequent exposure to loud noises.

• Seasonal exposure to hot and cold working areas.

• Must be able to work in areas without climate controls at times
