Location : Phoenix, AZ

Summary :

Aerospace company is looking for an experience Maintenance Technician that can wear a few hats. This role is part of the technical team and will be under the supervision of companies management, with specific support from relevant functional department managers. Ideal candidates can demonstrate a strong technical background in most of the following functions, with capability and aptitude to acquire all skill sets. The Technician is a manufacturing support role that focuses on implementing the companies best practices in manufacturing process and facilities development throughout the Arizona facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair and maintain production/manufacturing equipment/ facilities.
  • Devise and develop machinery and equipment improvements, build or perform modifications when approved.
  • Install and maintain facility / equipment utilities (air, electrical, water, argon, data, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot daily production issues; Identify and eliminate root causes of problems.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of reliable manufacturing methods, working across functional groups.
  • Train, monitor, and resolve process variation to ensure activity in manufacturing is standardized and can be done in accordance with relevant documentation.
  • Establish a culture of 5S and Safety through actions supporting a clean, effective, and functional manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret and maintain computer-based facility layouts.
  • Diagnose, repair, and collaborate effectively with others to identify, schedule, and plan repairs, maintenance activities, and project work.
  • Using technical tools and software, execute engineering or technical related projects with success.
  • Maintain chemical inventory, properly label containers and ensure storage area is clean and orderly.
  • Effectively use basic hand and power tools and measuring devices to accomplish tasks and perform manufacturing processes.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
  • Reconfigure and optimize workstations and areas including ergonomic improvements.
  • Coach and develop instructors in creating and delivering Job Instruction Breakdowns (JIBs).
  • Develop and implement standard work, ensuring JIBs are kept current and accurately document "one best way."
  • Evaluate instructors to ensure TWI (Training within Industry) expectations are met and provide input to the supervisors on the professional development of the instructors.
  • Maintain expertise in continuous improvement processes.

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Complete a formal training or apprenticeship program in a related field such as mechanical, facilities (carpentry, plumbing and HVAC), electrical, electronic, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems or have equivalent experience that demonstrates high technical ability.
  • Experience or education in process design, development, test and evaluation.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently with consistency and discipline.
  • Requires strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, presentation, project management, and organization skills.
  • Self-starter with a strategic viewpoint and the ability to analyze issues and challenges as well as recommend solutions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of codes and regulations related to equipment and facilities is preferred.
  • Experience or education in the following areas: lean manufacturing, CAD, ergonomics, and metal fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Proven ability to work with employees at all levels.
  • Two or more years of training experience, familiarity with Training Within Industry (TWI) methods and tools, a plus.


Physical Qualifications:
  • Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.
  • Use of protective clothing, goggles, and other equipment to prevent injuries. Wearing a respirator may also be required.
