Mobile Communications America is seeking a Manager, Operations to oversee the construction and installation organization for our fast-growing BDA/DAS group located in Raleigh, NC. Reporting to the regional Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the timely completion of wireless communication construction projects both within the U.S. southeast region and other U.S. locations as needed. Our service teams are a differentiator for MCA and this position is critical to building and growing an effective, high quality and motivated installation team.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Responsible for the day-to day management of the construction and implementation section of the company, including staffing and functions of installation crews and installations; hires, training, evaluates, and disciplines employees; provides leadership and direction within the organization.
  • Constructs, operates, and maintains MCA’s networks according to standard operating practices.
  • Prepares and executes routine patrolling of all MCA DAS networks and participates as needed to ensure the completion of emergency and preventative maintenance when required.
  • Performs all necessary actions to ensure that adequate personnel safety, scheduling, materials, equipment and other coverage is available for all construction, operational, maintenance, and emergency functions.
  • Handles pertinent personnel-related problems; attends meetings as a representative of MCA; orders supplies and equipment necessary for efficient operation of the installation organization.
  • Prepares Operations and Maintenance Budget applicable to area of responsibility and supervises all field operation & functions.
  • Reviews payroll for accuracy; signs payroll; assists in monitoring the progress of each of the pertinent crews in the Department.
  • Prepares Operations portion of Capital Budget and supervises the operations of construction projects.
  • Deals with difficult field issues that lead technicians are unable to resolve.
  • Holds weekly staff meetings and takes an active role in staffing decisions.
  • Has "tailgate session" with direct reports to communicate project status, work planning, safety and other key priorities; communicates status of area responsibility to Director on regular basis.
  • Supervises and works in close coordination with Project Managers & Engineering to accomplish the efficient and timely completion of all construction projects, operations, and maintenance requirements.
  • Responsible for all necessary paperwork which relates to the construction, operation, and maintenance of MCA Systems.
  • Enforces all city and department rules and policies and all applicable city, state, and federal safety rules and regulations.
  • Develops and facilitates all training activities for direct reports.
  • Guarantees team adherence to all state and local contracting laws, rules and regulations.
  • Performs related duties as appropriate.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
  • Technical background with low voltage systems including networking, structured cabling, physical security, network equipment and DAS in commercial and public spaces.
  • At least three years of experience leading installation crews or project management in the low voltage and systems industry.
  • Has a “following” as a supervisor - proven experience developing a team culture focused on employee retention, service excellence and project management success.
  • Experience with carrier services a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to navigate and resolve conflict effectively.
  • Proven ability to develop and motivate a team; strong leadership skills; interpersonal skills; ability to motivate direct and indirect staff
  • Possess strong organizational, time management and analytical skills.
  • Possess strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, results driven organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience, with preference on military experience.
