Position Summary

The Carlyle Group's Global Technology & Solutions (GTS) group seeks a Manager - Performance Management to support the management of multiple software platforms with a broad array of business stakeholders in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role will be a team member responsible for managing Carlyle's OneStream platform along with Workiva and ancillary systems. Carlyle's OneStream platform is expansive with use cases in place covering consolidated actuals (Firm financials), statutory reporting, tax analysis, planning / budgeting / forecasting, people planning, Global IT expense planning, account reconciliations (Firm and Fund financials), and Fund Financial Reporting.

OneStream data is used by multiple downstream applications/business stakeholder groups each of which has their own integration and/or data delivery process. This position will require the ability to both maintain and develop new integrations, both upstream and downstream, requiring a strong working knowledge of data concepts, such as relational database models, SQL, APIs, etc.

Following the Agile software development methodology, this position is responsible for managing day-to-day production support, planning and executing small and large platform enhancements including upgrades, supporting custom business logic, supporting customers through partnerships with business stakeholders and the GTS Infrastructure & Operations team, and participating in the strategic decision making process related to future product releases.

This position requires the ability to participate and/or lead in all phases of SDLC including requirements gathering, design & development including business process re-engineering utilizing the OneStream platform, QA testing including test script creation and execution, and migration to production. The candidate must have hands on technical knowledge of SQL, Visual Basis, and PowerShell scripting along with the ability to write and maintain business rules and member formulas within the OneStream platform. Experience with navigating and querying data from underlying ERP General Ledger systems such as PeopleSoft and Investran a plus.Position requires experience in system architecture including data integration using APIs with source systems.

All responsibilities require heavy interaction with software vendors, third-party consultants, and business stakeholders.To achieve these goals, the individual will be required to provide timely and effective Tier-1/2 technical support to a global user base as well as manage software vendor support communications regarding issues and enhancements. Excellent interpersonal skills are required, as the candidate will collaborate with various business stakeholder groups.

The candidate must have hands on experience (full implementation cycles preferable) and deep functional and technical knowledge of enterprise / corporate performance management (EPM / CPM) tools - ideally OneStream; however, comparable tools such as Oracle Hyperion, SAP BPC, Anaplan, etc. are also acceptable. Strong problem solving skills and experience managing / developing application business logic is required. The candidate must have a strong client presence, documentation, and communication skills.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

Lead development, testing and deployment/migration of application changes and new functionality which follow our change control process; directly involved in implementation of application patches/updates and assessing new modules to assist in our ability to meet business capabilities

Serve as the technical subject matter expert in providing tier-1/2 technical support for global OneStream users and manage product support with the TCG Service Desk to ensure that Service Level Agreements are met; maintain the global security model; support audit and SOX requirements including updating process and audit documentation

Contribute to and maintain the support knowledgebase for the OneStream platform as required by Carlyle's product development lifecycle

Provide backup support for other corporate financial systems, as needed

Qualifications

Education & Certificates

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Concentration in Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting Information Systems, or related field, strongly preferred
Professional Experience
  • 8+ years of IT industry experience (or related consulting experience) working with business intelligence or enterprise / corporate performance management applications supporting business customers, required
  • 4+ years of experience supporting or developing performance management applications (development experience preferred with a minimum of 3 years of OneStream or comparable EPM/CPM platform experience required)
  • Experience in writing business rules, Visual Basic, SQL is a must or strong programming experience to compliment
  • Understanding of Accounting and Finance functions, strongly preferred
Competencies & Attributes
Ideal candidate must have:
  • EPM / CPM platform administration experience (OneStream preferred; however, Oracle Hyperion, SAP BPC, Anaplan, etc. all valuable)
  • Experience developing and troubleshooting financial and ad-hoc reports (OneStream cube views, dashboard reports, and Quick View reports preferred)
  • Experience with databases, especially SQL Server, creating & running queries and analyzing data
  • Experience with SQL, VB.NET, Visual Basic, Shell Scripting or other object-oriented programming
  • Understanding of on-premise and cloud infrastructure architecture
  • Experience providing technical support to business users
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to problem solve independently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, including coaching and mentorship, of team members and direct reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment
  • The ability to work extended hours (in the office or remotely) as required to support the business or to meet project/release dates
  • Understanding of Financial Close, Planning and Budgeting, and Forecasting processes,
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Visio
