This position supports our healthcare professional liability line of business and can be fully remote.

The Programs and Products Manager is responsible for direct oversight of PRA programs and will work in conjunction with other BD colleagues in the identification of areas for product and program growth and development. The individual is also responsible for collaboration and execution of operational strategies that support the BD department while focusing on delivering quality service and support to both internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 20% - Coordinate and execute all assigned business development functions in accordance with company policies, for the purpose of assuring growth, product/service development, quality control, profitability and operating cost reduction.
  • 20% - Research, analyze, and monitor business, insurance, healthcare and competitor factors that may affect the present and future needs of the company, product mix, and distribution system(s).
  • 20% - Identify and recruit PRA agents and non-agents to sell and promote PRA products and programs. Train and educate agents on new PRA products and changes.
  • 15% - Assist in the development and monitoring of national and state profitability plans; participate in periodic agent review process and facilitate the development of appropriate agency plans to achieve the premium and profitability plans as it relates to our programs.
  • 10% - Assist in the development of reports through the CRM platform, utilize reports and dashboards for discussion purposes and identify relevant information regarding agent meetings and conversations.
  • 5% - Maintain ongoing relationships with key endorsed partners and associations; and monitor all aspects of those relationships.


Secondary Responsibilities:
  • 5% - Organize and attend PRA identified industry events.
  • 5% - Perform special projects as directed by management.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or 8 years' commensurate experience may replace the Bachelor's degree requirement.
  • Five years of sales experience including product or program management, preferably in an insurance or financial industry.
  • Casualty insurance experience in business development.
  • Knowledge of medical professional liability insurance or healthcare required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Adaptable & comfortable with change.
  • Proven leadership skills, excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, strong interpersonal and relationship management skills required.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Experience in successfully setting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Ability to handle competing deadlines.
  • Initiative to solve problems and appropriately pursue opportunities.
  • Ability to seek creative solutions to recurring problems.
  • Ability to travel extensively with up to 50% travel.
  • Able to work independently.
