Position Summary

Directs and controls materials management for KONI North America (Hebron, KY) on a local level. Manages activities of those engaged in the movement of raw and finished materials, storage, production scheduling, inventory control activities and purchasing activities. Leads warehouse team and assists with customer service, warehousing, procurement, planning, transport and purchasing so that production can progress.

Salary: $77,000 - $116,000 Annual
Essential Responsibilities

  • Leads negotiations of critical and high value items and develop relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Manages a small team (direct reports) of buyers, planners and warehouse works in their daily functions and collective team goals
  • Direct and guide buyers and planners in executing the details of their assignments
  • Advise appropriate management personnel of generated material activities to coordinate material flow
  • Works closely with and reports to Operations Director.
  • Spearheads supply chain forecasting and shortages
  • Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
  • Interfaces with manufacturing supervision on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments.
  • Controls, measures and regulates efficient inventory levels of materials, commodities, purchased items and determines final disposition
  • Directs the scheduling of production in the manufacturing of company production lines
  • Ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
  • Mentors team to achieve Lean Six Sigma initiatives
  • Determines if an out of balance condition exists and identifies sound alternatives
  • Leads personnel to resolve material and capacity issues, and develops plans and strategies to eliminate impacts to the internal build or ship plan(s)
  • Manages progress against the shipment plan and internal build schedule, and communicates program status on a regular basis
  • Manages integrity of data that supports the material requirements planning and capacity requirements planning processes
  • Advise and inform management regarding trends and development with Supply Chain Management.
Position Requirements
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with an entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for customer focused innovation
  • Experience with Enterprise Implementations of ERP systems (SAP a plus)
  • 7+ years' experience in logistics role or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in materials management or related area
  • APICS Certification a plus
  • Strong knowledge of planning and purchasing systems
