Astellas is announcing a Manager, Sustainability, Corporate Advocacy opportunity at their US Corporate Headquarters in Northbrook, IL.



Purpose:

The Manager, Sustainability is responsible for advancing US Sustainability Advocacy efforts. This position works in close collaboration with members of the global Sustainability and Corporate Advocacy/Communications organizations, as appropriate, to ensure divisional alignment and transparency of efforts. The Manager will also be named Secretary of the Astellas Global Health Foundation. In this position, the Manager is responsible for ensuring the transparent and compliant disbursement of the Foundation's philanthropic funds.



Essential Job Responsibilities:


* Partners with Director, Sustainability to define detailed metrics and execute programming that expresses the Sustainability strategy locally and globally.
* Ensures Astellas Global Health Foundation processes align with Foundation By-laws, Foundation Social Contribution Policy and Standard Operating Procedures.
* Responsible for communicating divisional Sustainability priorities and preparing updates for global team for inclusion in global quarterly Sustainability highlights.
* Manages philanthropic requests including U.S. Charitable Donations, Astellas Global Health Foundation Grants and management of an outside vendor to process requests compliantly, in alignment with relevant SOPs.
* Contributes to the Astellas Annual Report, enabling Astellas to appropriately advocate its Sustainability highlights.
* Handles multiple priorities, establishing and maintaining effective and efficient channels of communication with internal audiences and non-profit community organizations.
* Interprets complex community issues and provides simple, implementable community programming.
* Manages budget and spend in alignment with approved budgets.
* Responsible for drafting, updating and routing Sustainability communications in a timely manner.
* Strong ability to create databases to capture and extract various Sustainability data including philanthropic data, divisional Sustainability data and demonstrate the ability to determine the best data to provide to stakeholders.





Qualifications:

Required


* BS or BA Degree or Equivalent in Sustainability/Corporate Responsibility, Communications or related field is required
* Requires 4 years Sustainability/Corporate Responsibility experience
* Experience with Corporate Sustainability efforts, trends, reporting and programs that impact both corporate reputation and community
* Strong communication abilities including presentation, verbal, and written skills
* Self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple priorities at once



Preferred


* Understanding of and experience in the pharmaceutical industry
* 3 years of experience in community/Foundation with philanthropic support
