Position Overview:

The Crude Oil Market Analyst will directly support the Physical Crude Supply & Trading desk by providing commercial insights around the supply/demand dynamics of the North American oil market. The Analyst will be a part of the Market Analysis Team within Motiva's Supply, Trading & Logistics department.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Build and maintain supply/demand models (Cushing, Permian, WCSB, Exports, etc) in order to understand market balances.
• Leverage models, along with a deep knowledge of various market factors, to formulate a point-of-view and identify signposts/risks.
• Serve as a key member of the Market Analysis Team in ensuring open communication of market fundamentals across the trading floor and broader organization.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of analytical experience covering the North American crude oil markets.
• Strong understanding of Refining economics (cracks, spreads, etc).
• Prior experience successfully working in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree
• Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior trade floor experience
• Experience with advanced analytical tools/coding languages
