What we need:

Mohawk Group is looking for a communication manager to develop and implement effective public relations and marketing strategies for Mohawk Group, the commercial business unit of Mohawk Industries. We're looking for a relationship builder that creates connections with media and influencers to drive targeted exposure and brand awareness. This position will also be in charge of crafting copy for marketing materials and channels.

What you'll do:

• Identify strategies to engage with national media outlets, reporters, and social media influencers. Coordinate editorial content calendar and messaging, while collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external partners to develop content that is dynamic, engaging and reflective of the Mohawk Group brand
• Manage media buy initiatives, in conjunction with marketing team
• Coordinate media requests and follow up to secure coverage in print, broadcast and online outlets.
• Coordinate and facilitate press and media events, including any necessary media training, practice sessions, and briefing documents.
• Draft clear, compelling copy for a variety of mediums including press releases, advertising, merchandising, videos, email campaigns, blogs and social media
• Track and influence media coverage
• Support internal communications and serve as liaison with corporate communication team
• Submit for awards and speaking opportunities and manage promotion of those opportunities when secured.

What you have:

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 3-5 years' experience in public relations or communications
• Strong writer and AP style experience
• A willingness to learn on the job and grow your career

What you're good at:

• Working and collaborating with a wide range of individuals across different parts of the business
• Managing your time between multiple projects while have strong attention to detail
• Writing in a variety of styles including for email, digital platforms, B2B and B2C with experience in SEO
• Staying organized in a fast-paced environment

• Expect to travel approximately 10% for trade shows, customer visitation, and other events
