Marketing ParalegalPosition Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, commercially minded and highly motivated team player to support a range of marketing, advertising, packaging, and social media initiatives, and to protect Ferrara's intellectual property. The Marketing Paralegal will report to and work closely with the Deputy General Counsel and will play a key role in optimizing our legal function. The Marketing Paralegal will work closely with a wide variety of business stakeholders, across all functions, in a dynamic, fast-paced and growing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support Ferrara's marketing teams by reducing Ferrara's legal risk associated with its advertising and marketing.
  • Reviewing advertising/marketing materials; packaging; and digital and social media content to ensure compliance with company policies and federal and state laws and regulations;
  • Working closely with the Deputy General Counsel to ensure all advertising claims are properly substantiated and documented; engaging closely with cross-functional product development and marketing teams in developing, reviewing, and substantiating advertising claims;
  • Drafting routine agreements, like non-disclosure agreements, minor talent agreements, and joint promotion agreements;
  • Serving as the law department's ambassador to Ferrara's marketing teams, advising them of significant legal developments regarding advertising law (under direction from Deputy General Counsel), and keeping abreast of upcoming marketing/promotional activity;
  • Streamlining and improving processes for advertising/marketing/ packaging reviews for new and existing products; and
  • Assisting with the defense/prosecution of advertising-related disputes.

• Protect Ferrara's intellectual property, by
  • Ensuring proper usage of company trademarks in advertising and packaging;
  • Liaising with outside trademark counsel regarding clearance, applications, and registrations of Ferrara's trademarks; and
  • Liaising with outside patent counsel regarding freedom-to-operate analyses, and patent application filings;

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree required

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
• Self-starter with independence, initiative, and creativity, yet quick to ask for help when needed.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and process-oriented.
• Able to manage a heavy workload and prioritize effectively.
• Sound judgment, commercial awareness, and business acumen

• Paralegal certification preferred
• Experience in either a law firm or a corporate law department preferred.
• Tech-savvy and highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and DocuSign.
