Volt is immediately hiring Material Handler I in W Sacramento, CA!

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs prescription packaging that entails handling HIPAA sensitive information and medication information.
  • Performs prescriptions sortation utilizing handheld scanners. Completes the sortation process by scanning the prescription shipping label barcode and confirming the accurate location by scanning the location bin barcode. After confirmation, the prescription is placed in the accurate bin.
  • Performs audits for closed bins: This entails performing a physical count of the closed tote, and then comparing the physical count to the tote manifest systematic count. If the count does not match communication to management is required to rectify the discrepancy.
  • Reading and analyzing application screens and pops up windows to ensure that all HIPAA sensitive information is being followed by standard operating procedures.
  • Performs chain of custody audit (COC): Records total bins created in the system, by location, for a production day. Ensure that the total tote system count equals the physical count. Responsible for having the pickup driver sign for the correct tote count.
  • Restocks workstations with daily supply needs. In addition to basic cleaning responsibility: Taking out trash, wiping down surfaces, sweeping, etc.
  • Performing proof of delivery (POD): Duplicating and recording a series of numbers on shipping labels to a physical receipt. Completing proof of delivery: Verifying and signing off on POD ensure recordings are accurate.

Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
  • High School Degree or equivalent experience
Business Experience -
  • One year warehouse, retail, or customer service setting
  • Basic computer skills
  • Interaction in a team environment where effective communication is needed to be successful.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills -
  • Knowledge of federal and state HIPAA laws
  • Follow oral instruction.
  • Perform continuous and repetitive work.
  • Perform under stress (i.e. time pressures)
  • Make judgments and/or decisions.
  • Switch between various tasks without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Interact appropriately with people in a team environment.
  • Basic mathematic skills
  • Operate a pallet jack.
  • Operate a hand truck/dolly.
  • Operate scanning units.
Physical Requirements (Lifting, standing, etc.) -
Occasionally the following physical abilities will be needed:
  • Occasionally lift 10 to 20 lbs
  • Occasionally carry 10 to 20 lbs
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching
  • Reaching overhead and wrist level

Frequently the following physical abilities will be needed.
  • Utilizing ladders to retrieve supplies and products.
  • Using firm grasps

Continuously the following physical abilities will be needed.
  • Standing and walking
  • Reading and hearing
  • Reaching at table level
  • Using simple grasps

This is a Contract opportunity.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Location: W Sacramento, CA

Duration: 4+ Months

Pay: $19/Hr. - $20/Hr.
