Description

Domtar's Kingsport mill is currently being repurposed, moving from uncoated free sheet to produce various 100% recycled packaging grades. While this is the mill entry position, we seek those individuals who aspire to rise to the top of the mill's operations.

SCHEDULE:
Once up and running, the mill will operate under the Dupont 12-hour schedule. Prior to that, and during the conversion project, a person will have a classroom training component with a day shift 8-hour schedule, and a check out / commissioning component with a rotating 12-hour schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES / EXPECTATIONS:
• Operate powered industrial trucks.
• Work in a warehouse operation.
• Housekeeping, cleaning, painting, etc.
• Commitment to learning new skills. Buy in to the family-based high-performance work system.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Industrial manufacturing experience preferred with a strong aptitude for risk assessment and good mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work a rotating shift including weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
• Committed to following all safety policies and procedures to include wearing all personal protective equipment including hard hats, ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves, chemical suits, steel toe boots, etc.
• Comfortable working at heights, using ladders, lifts, and working in confined spaces.
• Safe operation of powered industrial trucks.
• Work within indoor and outdoor conditions of heat, cold, noise, dust, and moisture.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Successful applicants will complete a selection process that includes aptitude testing, board panel interview, background check, pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and a physical examination relevant to the work performed.
