Job Objective: Performs inspection, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, forklifts, pickups, fuel mules, etc. and to any type of equipment, including pumps.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:In addition to the essential job functions described below, all associates will perform duties as requested by management. Assigned responsibilities and duties may vary based upon location size and operation.
  • Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers
  • Keep equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance including tire rotation and oil changes, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion and completing winterization procedures.
  • Maintain parts inventory and shop cleanliness and ensure all accurate records exist
  • Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to identify worn and damaged parts.
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major and minor assemblies and sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems including: power and drivetrains, electrical, a/c systems, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics, etc.
  • Complete machine shop operations, making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
  • Test and adjust engine, safety, and combustion control in compliance with state and federal standards.
  • Maintain vehicle appearance.
  • Maintain accurate, DOT compliant maintenance records and shop records by annotating services and repairs
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
  • Keep accurate records of all parts/stock and order as needed for maintenance and repair.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Ensures services provided are in compliance with federal and state vehicle and safety requirements by
  • Testing engines, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Responsible for diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical trouble shooting, steering, and cooling systems.
  • Assist the driver with deliveries as needed (if driving a Commercial Driver's License must be obtained)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Must possess a valid Driver License. CDL a plus!
  • Follow written and oral instructions

  • Brakes
  • Welding
  • Diagnostics
  • Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures
  • Work overtime as needed

  • Walking: move about inside the office and/or branch facilities as well as airport/travel needs
  • Sit/Stand: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time
  • Capable of traveling as required
Attendance Requirements: Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory, including arriving at the time as scheduled
