Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (NARA)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in to provide operations and maintenance support for the National Archives Buildings in Washington, DC and College Park, Maryland The selected candidate will be based out of one site, depending on the selected candidate, but will travel frequently between both facilities. A shuttle is provided at no charge.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support in the efficient and safe operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment (i.e., boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical, BAS, plumbing, etc.).
  • Analyze equipment specifications, operating data, and system control procedures to make recommendations for the improved operation of the mechanical systems.
  • Use AutoCAD to create new drawings or revise existing drawings
  • Use planning and estimating software and expertise to develop/bid IDIQ work.
  • Project manage IDIQ work.
  • Energy management and consumption, sustainability considerations.
  • LEED GOLD experience.
  • Write or revise SOPs for mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Select equipment for the replacement or modifications of existing systems
  • Research and proposing modifications to improve the operation of the facility.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from an engineering school with a curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology
  • Minimum of five (5) years of on-site experience in the operation and maintenance of a facility of 850k sq feet or more with 24/7/365 central plants operations.
  • Experience with HVAC equipment
  • Knowledge and Experience using AutoCAD to create new drawings or revise existing drawings
  • Must fluently speak, read and write the English language
