SUMMARY

Oversees and coordinates the installation of new Company machines in the customer's plant, as well as field changes, retrofits and reworks on existing machines in the field.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Oversees the installation/Servicing of machines in the customer's plant in coordination with customer personnel and outside contractors.

Oversees machine qualification; i.e. to meet contract specifications such as, but not limited to, cycle time, part quality, tool life, and sound levels.

Oversees production runs to verify that the machine functions properly under production standards.

Instructs and trains customer personnel in the proper operation and maintenance of machines.

Performs service calls or warranty calls to address the cause of any machine problems. Makes the necessary repairs and/or recommends the appropriate corrective action.

Adheres to quality, customs, foreign trade zone and environmental processes and procedures.

Uses established quality and environmental systems, including job procedures, work instructions and forms.

Accepts responsibility for the assigned project and job requirements and effectively communicates problems or concerns working toward a quick and satisfactory resolution.

Works with a level of accuracy and detail in every aspect of each task.

Accurately and timely completes service reports, progress reports, checklists and correspondence to internal and external colleagues, customers and suppliers.

Shares ideas for process improvements and other cost saving measures to management.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with six to eight years of machine tool (Crankshaft) experience in a skilled trade or Associate's degree (A.A.) plus four to six years of machine tool experience in a skilled trade or completion of a formal apprenticeship program.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical assembly, electrical, hydraulic and lube systems. Ability to write reports, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the customers.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledgeable in word processing and spreadsheet software, preferably Microsoft WORD and EXCEL. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, customers and suppliers. Above average work habits. Able to work independently with little supervision. Must be a team player.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Extensive travel is common in this position with extended periods of time away from home very likely. A valid driver license and vehicle are required in this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
