Description:
Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center a member of Trinity Health of New England is looking for a Medical Secretary to join The Center for Cardiac Recovery within our Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute team. Our vision is to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to those within our local communities, creating a positive impact for each individual that walks through our doors.

This person is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and care to all patients and clients in the Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute and is responsible for the coordination of administrative tasks and clinical support for the Physicians and Practitioners. This person is expected to participate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The Medical Secretary has administrative responsibilities for about 30% of the time including patient greeting, check-in, scheduling, answering phones, triaging phone calls, scanning and regularly communicating with office staff. Clinical responsibilities account for approximately 70% of the time and include rooming patients, taking patient vital signs and documenting patient medical and social history in the EMR, medication reconciliation, including documenting patients' current medications, dosages and frequency. This position performs including EKG, drawing labs, removing IVs and assisting with patients within the clinic.

Work Hours/Shift:
  • Full-Time, 40 hrs.
You Will Be Responsible For:

Requirements:
  • Education Associates preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred,
  • Preferably 1 -2 years' experience in healthcare
  • Excellent computer abilities.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow written and verbal directions with multiple steps.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team treatment model.
  • Ability to manage multiple phone lines simultaneously.
