Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Medical Physician with a Public Trust Clearance to support Kadiak and our government customer in Washington, DC.

Position Overview:
Kadiak, LLC, is seeking a Part time Medical Physician in support of the Department of State Primary location of performance is Department of State main building, 21st and Virginia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20520, or other State Annexes in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. Work Hours: Services are to be provided between the hours of M-F 0700-1700 local time. Remain Flexible to meet agency needs. May entail travel Monday through Friday unless specified otherwise.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work performed under this labor category includes professional services advising the
  • Program Office in the diagnosis of illness,
  • Expert guidance concerning the prescription and administration of healthcare treatment for people suffering from injury or disease,
  • Expert guidance on the examination of patients,
  • Expert guidance on obtaining medical histories, and
  • Expert guidance on ordering, performing, and the interpretation of diagnostic tests.
  • Expert assistance to advise the Program Office with patient care, hygiene, and
  • preventive healthcare practices.
  • Shall meet the licensing competency and professional qualifications required by the state for which hired; and have one (1) year field experience within the last three years
  • Required to have a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Number
  • Responsible for meeting, assessing, and diagnosing clients in the health unit and provide them with healthcare services that meet state and national standards. Responsible for prescribing clients with appropriate medication, treatments, health regimens and lifestyle adjustments that will contribute to their recovery from diagnosed health issues.
  • Recognizes emergency situations and initiate appropriate resuscitative measures
  • Assures personal compliance with licensing, certification, and accrediting bodies
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions
  • Establishes and monitors appropriate level of care for clinic patients
  • Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory studies and interpreting test results
  • Refers clients to specialists when appropriate or call for
  • Analyze reports, test results, medical records, and examinations to diagnose condition of client and to propose treatment options
  • Authorizes and coordinates all specialty and ancillary services
  • Ensures timely and accurate documentation of patient status and patient care activities including treatments, procedures, and medications prescribed
  • Administers topical, oral, intravenous, or intramuscular medications
  • Meets with Medical Director or designate to discuss quality of patient care, review policies, procedures, outcomes reports, and records
  • Comply with federal and state privacy laws, always respecting a patient's confidentiality
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Ensures clinical competence and stays abreast of changes in medical management
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested
Education and Related Experience
  • Must possess a Doctor of Medicine or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.
  • This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • Specialty certifications and expertise will be described at the task order level.
Technology
  • Intermediate computer skills are essential in use of an electronic medical record
Metrics
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, verbal, and written communication skills required
  • Strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills required
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes
  • Willing to enter into practice agreements with both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, if required for the state assigned.
Requirements:
  • Pre-employment background check mandatory
  • You must have the ability to pass a Tier 4 investigation and a Moderate Public Trust
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the clinical duties (e.g., CPR performance, responding immediately to an emergency, carrying a thirty (30) pound Emergency Go-Bag, etc.) without accommodation as well as free from any communicable disease(s).
  • Valid Passport is preferred
Working Environment & Conditions:
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
