Exciting opportunity to work directly with adults orchildren on inpatient psychiatric units at Salem Hospital. These positions involve establishingtherapeutic relationship with patients while maintaining professionalboundaries , participation in patient care rounds, managing the milieu andfacilitating psycho education and therapeutic group activities. Thesuccessful candidate will identify patient behaviors that contribute to thedevelopment of a crisis, and utilize nonverbal and verbal techniques tode-escalate crisis situations, as these units are striving to be a restraintfree environment to promote the recovery of patients. Positions require somescheduling flexibility, including every other weekend and rotatingholidays.

North Shore Medical Center Psychiatry service includes acomprehensive array of psychiatric services including 120 inpatient beds all on the Salem campus. NSMC is a member of the PartnersHealth Care Network that includes MGH, Brigham, McLean, Newton WellesleyHospital and other Partners institutions.

Qualifications
Required:

• High school degree or GED required.
• Requires verbal andwritten communication skills and the ability to communicate with patients ofdiverse age, population, and multitude of cultural/ethnic background.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in human services.
• Experience in an inpatient mental health unit.
