CUMULUS MEDIA/INDIANAPOLIS is looking for a Music Director/On-Air Talent to join our incredible team at Country WFMS-FM. Do you have at least three years of successful on-air radio experience? Cumulus Media/Indianapolis features 6 radio stations (Country WFMS-FM, Classic Hits WJJK-FM, Active Rock WNDX-FM, Hot AC WNTR-FM, Sports WXNT-AM and CHR WZPL-FM) reaching well over a million listeners weekly. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Director in managing the daily music programming of WFMS-FM
  • Work with Program Director to help develop and deploy strategic programming plans vs. our targeted competitors
  • Responsibly represent WFMS-FM in correspondence and meetings with members of the record label community as necessary
  • Produce a daily radio show delivering compelling content of appeal to the target demo in order to build ratings and grow the terrestrial and digital audience
  • Be great with phones/interacting with callers on-air and provide a steady stream of content to our website, social media platforms and podcast
  • Work with the sales team to develop and enhance client relationships and revenue opportunities through endorsements
  • Participate in station Programming, Promotions and Sales meetings as requested
  • Host paid & unpaid live broadcasts, remotes and station appearances on-site as assigned
  • Produce commercial production, including creating killer endorsement ads - both on-air and online - for mutually agreed upon products
  • Voice other commercials as assigned
  • Operate in accordance with FCC regulations and policies
  • Operate control board, remote broadcasting and other related studio and production equipment as well as music scheduling software
  • Handle emergency news/weather in show; on-call for weather disasters/breaking news
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years of successful experience and winning track record backed by ratings results preferred
  • Exceptional understanding of social and digital "best practices" to reach and interact with the Indianapolis country music fan
  • Savvy computer skills and proficiency with music scheduling programs
  • Ability to effectively multi-task with the discipline to focus on what is the highest and best use of your time
  • Time management pro with superior organizational skills
  • Tireless work ethic and relentless attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative thinker and strategic problem solver
  • Can work well with peers in a collaborative team environment
  • Established industry contacts and the ability to build and foster great relationships in the country record/music/entertainment community
  • Minimum three years of on-air experience, Country/CHR/Hot AC preferred
  • Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune with local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions
  • Creative on-air entertainer that sees the radio studio as their stage
  • Strong production skills
  • Well-versed on FCC rules and regulations
