General Description

We are seeking a Navy Ship Specification Specialist to work closely with our Navy support team to develop Ship Specifications for a new Program. The Ship Specification Specialist will be responsible to develop ship specifications to support the Navy's acquisition plan for this new class of ships, customer planning and scheduling of specification related actions, producing reports as required by the Navy customer, and quality review as required.

General Duties

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform specification development activities
  • Generate project reports as required concerning specification activities
  • Act as liaison between Navy customer, program support personnel, contractors, and project management as related to Specification activities

Minimum Qualifications
  • US Citizenship required
  • At least 7 years of experience working for or supporting Navy Programs
  • Tactful but direct communications skills
  • Team player, engaged and committed to successful execution of programs
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment

Desired Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or Business Management desired
  • Familiarity with various ship specification types (performance, circular etc.)
  • Experience with MS office tools, primarily with Word/Excel
  • DOORS a plus, not required

Security Requirements

Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.
