About the Position

We are seeking an experienced NEPA Planner to join our growing Environmental team in Atlanta, GA; Jacksonville, FL; or remote in Georgia or Florida. The ideal candidate possesses at least 4 years of related experience (position and compensation will be commensurate with experience). Specific relevant experience with NEPA documentation with GDOT, FDOT, or DoD is required. Secondary experience/expertise with related special studies (i.e., ecology, history, archaeology, air, noise, environmental compliance, etc.) would be viewed favorably. The successful candidate would be mentored by our dynamic team of environmental professionals while supporting/leading a range of multidisciplinary projects. The successful candidate would also interface with clients and support proposal development.

About Our Team

Our team of environmental professionals includes biologists, ecologists, regulatory specialists, engineers, planners, GIS analysts, and community engagement specialists. Our environmental team is based in Atlanta but is engaged in projects throughout the southeast, the nation, and the world. Our existing environmental client base includes transportation, oil and gas, renewables, government (local, state, and federal), Department of Defense, private development, and water resources and restoration. The successful candidate would be an integral part of our growing team and would engage across markets and geographies.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Direct experience with GDOT PDP / FDOT PD&E / or DoD NEPA
  • Serving as environmental lead for infrastructure projects
  • Preparing NEPA analyses and deliverables
  • Managing schedules and environmental special studies including sub-consultant partners
  • Coordination with interdisciplinary teams of designers and environmental SMEs for various infrastructure projects
  • Assembling and managing project teams, proposals, budgets, and schedules
  • Public engagement
Qualifications:
  • BS in relevant environmental discipline
  • 4+ years of experience with transportation environmental projects
  • Strong QA/QC skills and ability to deliver complete and clean documents
  • Active in appropriate professional societies
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel as projects require (minor short-term travel is expected)
  • Ability and desire to manage and mentor junior staff
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.
