Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Arkansas is seeking applicants for the position of Material Handling Day Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Material Handling & Logistics team while establishing a culture of safety awareness, team development, logistics coordination, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Leadership role ensuring that Safety is a value
- Establish and communicate expectations and performance for the team
- Develop best practices for the Material Handling & Logistics team
- Developing the team through training, individual reviews, and coaching sessions
- Ensure consistency and reliability in material handling for the division
- Drive material handling projects to include CEA's
- Analyzing and providing recommendations for freight revenue/expenditures, shipment forecasts, and storage programs
- Ensuring consistency across all operational areas in the department and the division
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of three years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of four years of manufacturing experience in logistics, operations, or maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Steel manufacturing experience
- Four-year degree in Business or STEM related field and/or equivalent work experience
