Role Summary/Purpose:

This role is a generic posting for applicants met through the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), interested in a technology-based career at Wabtec Corporation. This entails internship, co-op, entry level, rotational program and experienced positions within the company. Roles are in technology, manufacturing and supply chain areas of the business, but require a technology-based background. What to Expect:

Whether you are looking for an internship or full-time employment, you will be able to boost the development of your skills in engineering or operational excellence. As an engineer you will be able to focus on some of the industry's most exciting trends in systems, controls, alternative fuels, motors, cooling, testing, signaling, core electronics, network & logistics, embedded software, additive and more. Or as an operations specialist you will be able to get experience and make an impact in some of our industry's most impactful areas in LEAN, 6sigma, supply chain, logistics, materials, testing, services, sourcing, leadership/supervision and more.

Locations:

Wabtec has numerous locations around the US which include (but are not limited to) Erie, PA; Fort Worth, TX; Germantown, MD; Atlanta, GA; and Greenville, SC. We work with you to ensure alignment of your professional goals with our geographical locations. Relocation lump sum is available provided the candidate meets eligibility requirements.

Requirements - We are looking for:

• Internship, Co-op, Entry Level and Rotational Program Roles:
  • For Engineering Focus - a student (for internship) pursuing or a graduate (for full-time position) holding a four-year technical degree with ABET accreditation in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, & other related technical degrees.
  • For Operations focus - a student (for internship) pursuing or a graduate (for full-time position) holding a four-year degree in: Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Environmental Health & Safety, Systems Engineering & other related technical degrees.
  • Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 (based upon 4.0 scale) (if applicant is a current student or recent graduate).
  • Open to applicants legally authorized to work in the U.S., without the need for current or future work status authorization or visa sponsorship for employment.
• Experienced Roles:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 10% of the time.
  • Other role specifications will vary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• A strong commitment to a career in technology, engineering, supply chain or manufacturing
• General understanding of engineering, software, supply chain, and/or manufacturing fundamentals with desire to continue learning
• Strong customer focus, ability to understand the value proposition for the customer, and commitment to deliver the best value proposition
• Demonstrated program / project management skills working on and leading teams
• Leadership experience and ability to communicate & tailor messages up and down the leadership chain
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms; strong analytical skills
• Proactively learns new tools and identifies opportunities for improvement and promotes their adoption
