Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant with a Public Trust Clearance to support Kadiak and our government customer in Washington, DC.

Position Overview:
Kadiak, LLC, is seeking a Part time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in support of the Department of State Primary location of performance is Department of State main building, 21st and Virginia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20520, or other State Annexes in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. Work Hours: Services are to be provided between the hours of M-F 0700-1700 local time. Remain Flexible to meet agency needs. May entail travel Monday through Friday unless specified otherwise.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA) is responsible for providing high-quality and effective patient care through the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic mental illness
  • In addition to providing direct patient care, the NP/PA also educates patients and family members regarding mental illness
  • The NP/PA shares responsibility for the provision of excellent health care in compliance with state and federal accreditation requirements, and practices within the guidelines of the Department of Psychiatry, Johns Hopkins Medicine, and in accordance with the DC Board of Nursing
  • Complete progress notes in EPIC Responsible for providing occupational health assessments
  • Responsible for providing medical surveillance testing to specific employees who are exposed to hazardous chemicals, excessive nose, lead and other occupational hazards
  • Performs components of physical exams which may include, but are not limited to:
  • Vital signs - varies with different exam requirements
  • Audiometry
  • Vision testing
  • ECG
  • Spirometry
  • Phlebotomy
  • TB skin testing
  • Documentation of all clinical data on all required forms
  • Provides immunizations according to KGS policies, SOPs and standing orders
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions
  • Comply with federal and state privacy laws, always respecting a patient's confidentiality
  • At least two (2) years' experience in an occupational health or related experience such as public health, community health, outpatient clinic, emergency department or ambulatory healthcare
  • Adept at diagnosing problems and creating treatment plans for clients
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task; ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
  • Superior ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
Education and Related Experience
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required/RN license required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from a nationally accredited postgraduate certificate program required
  • Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for; and listed on the state Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Registry Required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) training and possess current certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) trained and possess current certification
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Tier 4 and Moderate Public Trust security clearance, per government requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Education Requirements/Certification/Licensure/Experience
  • Shall meet the licensing competency and professional qualifications required by the state for which hired; and have one (1) year field experience within the last three years
  • Required to have a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Number
  • Agree to have a collaborative agreement with physician if required for the state assigned
  • Master's Degree in Nursing as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from a nationally accredited postgraduate certificate program required

  • You must have the ability to pass a Tier 4 investigation and a Public Trust
  • Valid Passport is preferred
Working Environment & Conditions:
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
