POSITION SUMMARY
The Office Assistant, Recruitment and Outreach assists in all aspects of the student recruitment process, both in the office and at recruitment events. This role is responsible for general receptionist activities for the College, representing the College on campus and off-campus activities and events as needed, and follow-up outreach, to assist students from the admission process through initial enrollment with the College. This is a part-time position, up to 25 hours per week, and may require evening and weekend hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Greets prospective students, their families, and the public in person.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls.
  • Provides general college information and materials based on request.
  • Creates and maintains calendar appointments as necessary.
  • Makes follow-up phone calls and generates follow-up emails to prospective students and families.
  • Assists prospective students and their families through the admissions and enrollment processes.
  • Participates in on-campus and off-campus recruiting events.
  • Utilizes existing and emerging technology to communicate with, and maintain records of, contacts with prospective students.
  • Performs campus information center functions in the absence of other staff members and at any of the campus locations.
  • Other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly sit at a desk and use a computer with monitors.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and arm's length vision acuity.

Occasional lifting, of up to 20 pounds. The work environment is moderate noise.

Frequent sitting in a moving vehicle as the position will require traveling to events

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a collaborative team member.
  • Possess a state-issued Driver's License and/or can secure reliable transportation to and from on- and off-campus activities.
  • Clear understanding of and adherence to privacy and confidentiality of information.
  • Strong organizational skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in an office setting providing quality customer service.
  • Experience working in an educational/higher education setting.
  • Experience and comfortable working with the public.
  • Familiarity with the college admissions and enrollment process.
