At CWS, our team knows they are making a difference every day. Whether you're in our U.S.-based offices supporting refugees, asylees or unaccompanied children ... implementing hygiene initiatives in Cambodia or rebuilding projects in Central America ... or even connecting remotely from your home on fundraising campaigns, grant reports, or critical communications - you have the opportunity to work towards a world where everyone has food, a voice and a safe place to call home.
Purpose
Church World Service (CWS) is seeking an intern to support our New Jersey Office of Refugees (NJOR) Children and Youth Programming. The intern will assist the NJOR Children and Youth team of case workers with the provision of services to recently arrived children and families who have resettled in New Jersey. The intern will receive training on how to work with refugee and newcomer families, how to work with children who have experienced trauma, human trafficking, and other topics. The intern will play a key role in providing organizational support to staff and will advance efforts to build robust networks of community service providers. For summer 2024, interns will also participate in CWS Jersey City Summer Programming. Interns must commit to one or two full days per week for Summer 2024. This is an unpaid position but expenses related to the daily commute to and from the office may be reimbursed.
