Commercial Acceleration, a business development unit within Oliver Wyman, enhances our firm's ability to sell and deliver large-scale, transformational programs that create substantial shareholder value. A critical component of the Commercial Acceleration unit is the Oliver Wyman Automated Virtual Environment (OWAVE) - an environment of interconnected, high-resolution monitors that brings client opportunities to life through more dynamic, digital storytelling techniques. OWAVE is a 15' x 22' visual display system intended to leverage a variety of mediums including video, audio, infographics, and advanced analytical software to give organizations a view of their business in ways they have never seen before (see Exhibit 1).

We are looking for a Graphic Designer who can work with our consulting team and Digital Communications Strategist to translate business data, analytics, research, and other information into engaging content, leveraging this innovative digital platform. Role

The Graphic Designer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Create storyboards and identify the best techniques and communication mediums to effectively engage and influence the audience based on provided parameters and requirements
  • Produce the digital content for display on OWAVE, editing and stitching together content from various mediums (e.g., graphics, videos) to create a cohesive, compelling story

Required Skills
  • Computer fluency in Mac and PC with solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (such as Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Proven graphic design experience
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, and typography
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles with a keen eye for aesthetics
  • Multimedia content development with the ability to combine visuals, video, text, and graphic design into engaging content
  • Video editing and animation capabilities
  • Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to create content that resonates with key audiences
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment under changing conditions
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
  • Ability to understand business concepts and interpret data/charts is a plus
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, cinematography, or related field is a plus

Compensation
  • This role is structured as a 1099 Independent Contractor for up to 40 hours per week
  • The initial commitment period is for 6 months, with the possibility to transition to temp or full-time employee over time
  • Starting rate of $40 / hour
