Summary:
• Clinically trained Registered Nurse responsible for the identification and removal of barriers to timely and appropriate cancer treatment.
• Guides the patient through the cancer care continuum from diagnosis through start of treatment
• Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates plan of care
• Organizes multidisciplinary care and coordinates referrals involved in cancer care, including surgical, medical, and radiation oncologists; social workers; patient education; community support; financial and insurance assistance; and others
• Provides individualized education to patient and caregivers
• Ensures excellent communication and customer service
• Serves as point of contact for physicians regarding patient's plan of care

• Is the site director for multi-institutional learning network to improve care for all Pancreatic Cancer patients
• Leads staff in collecting data on patient outcomes
• Attend Canopy meetings focusing on quality-of-care improvement projects
• Coordinates quality of care improvements at Roswell Park
• Participates in the writing of grants and manuscripts

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience

License Requirement
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience or critical care experience; or
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing, the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting and completion of Roswell Park Nursing orientation with the ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months as a Nurse I at Roswell Park; or
3. Bachelor's degree in Nursing and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have experience with data analysis and caring for patients with pancreatic cancer.
