The University of Miami has an exciting for an Ophthalmic Echographer 2 with Bascom Palmer Eye Institute located in Miami, Florida
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs all phases of ocular diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including keratometry, biometry, IOL master axial length measurements, contact B-scan, and standardized A-scan.
- Generates echograms and gives preliminary verbal reports to referring physicians.
- Registers patients in daily logs, prepares charts, and processes and sends accurate reports.
- Recognizes proper insurance authorizations and gives meticulous attention to proper billing rules.
- Assists with training of departmental staff and visiting technicians and ophthalmologists.
- Assists with preparation of echograms for presentations.
- Assists faculty, fellows, and residents with research projects.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Certification and Licensing:ROUB (Registered Ophthalmic Ultrasound Biometrist) or CDOS (Certified Diagnostic Ophthalmic Sonographer)
Experience:Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
