Purpose

This Analyst position shall provide critical analytical support to the Origination group with the primary responsibility for the coordination and submittal of responses to Requests for Proposals issued by the client base (Investor Owned Utilities, Municipalities, Commercial & Industrial sector). The successful candidate will monitor and report activity and intelligence in the marketplace that may impact decisions made by the origination team. This position will also be responsible for gaining knowledge of the energy industry and its players, energy procurement activities, goals, and market challenges to create accurate assessments of the interrelationships and the resulting market needs. The desired candidate will be able to provide new perspectives/approaches on existing tasks/solutions, work independently in a self-directed manner, and actively work to foster good working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Management of the RFP submittals, including coordination with the regional Originator and internal stakeholders to create the RFP work product;
  • Assess and translate market competition, industry trends, emerging customer challenges and fundamental changes in the marketplace into market strategies and product offerings;
  • Provide back-up to Senior Analyst in key commercial and analytical activities;
  • Assist Originators in pulling together pitchbooks for customer presentations.


Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preference may be given to candidate that has experience in energy markets.
  • Avangrid employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule / job duties.
  • The position may require some travel (less than 10%).

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing and interfacing effectively with cross-functional internal groups of all levels and competencies.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to solve abstract problems with limited information, attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to perform and interpret financial analysis and provide appropriate data and information
  • Well-developed computer skills including familiarity with standard
  • Microsoft Office applications, and programs used to analyze large data sets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
