We Are Hiring:

Ascension Saint Thomas is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in our OBED at Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. This unit is a fast paced 11 bay OB Emergency department. The OBED Patient Care Technician will be someone who thrives in a fast paced environment.

Location: Nashville, TN

Facility: St Thomas Midtown Hospital

Shift: Part-Time, Day- 7am until 7pm

What You Will Do:

As a Patient Care Technician in the OBED you will work with laboring mothers from the moment they arrive at the hospital until delivery. The PCT may be required to provide transport for the patient from other areas of the hospital. You will also be responsible for helping on the OBED desk. This is a fast-paced position and requires someone who can think and move quickly. You must be flexible with scheduling and available to work any day of the week including weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Aids with entry and exit of patients.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
• Responsible for keeping patient rooms clean and orderly as well as maintaining medical equipment.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Nurse Aide credential preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.

Work Experience:

• One year of PCT experience is preferred.
• Experience in an Operating Room or Emergency Room environment is highly preferred.
