The Pavement Field Technician will perform various types of data collection, using several specialized pieces of test equipment and techniques. The role will perform field data collection on highways, city streets, airports, shipping ports, etc. within the United States and internationally.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Observe and follow all Fugro safety rules and procedures and other company policies, written or verbal.
  • Assist in performing the tasks associated with the quality control plans for various types of testing conducted. This is accomplished by performing routine calibrations and equipment checks.
  • Follow/enforce the testing and inspection guidelines set forth.
  • Work variable schedules on short notice, up to 12/14 hours per day, 6 days a week.
  • Support and encourage continuous improvement of the company's processes, including safety programs and quality management systems.
  • Meet utilization goals as determined by the Activity Center Manager or supervisor.
  • Communicate tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain effective work relations both internal and external with those encountered in the course of employment.

Job Requirements:
  • Legally Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree in civil engineering, pavement engineering, electronics, or electronics technology is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the field of data collection, acquiring, interpreting, and analyzing geodata and performing engineering calculations is preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport, possible international travel/assignments may be required.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a USDOT medical card.
  • Good foundation understanding of mechanical, electrical, and technical principles.
  • Understand data acquisition procedures and computer acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
