Great client of ours is looking to build out their Finance department due to recent growth. This person will take complete ownership of the Payroll process and have full autonomy of the role, while working cross-functionally with Accounting and HR. Job Description

Payroll Administrator

Essential Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Process payroll semimonthly for 100+ employees
  • Process new employees' paperwork and process all salary changes throughout the entire organization, bonus payouts as well as correcting and/or facilitating the correction of any errors
  • Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll related matters
  • Managing ADP electronic timekeeping system including collecting and reviewing timesheets, correcting exceptions, and the timecard training of supervisory staff
  • Point person for missed punches/timecard exceptions/PTO inquiries in a supervisor's absence
  • Calculating payable hours, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions
  • Adding local and state jurisdictions to payroll portal, including the filing for unemployment insurance ID numbers with specific states and adding to the ADP validation tables
  • Corresponding with state tax agencies as needed
  • Responsible for detailed review of payroll register semimonthly
  • Responsible for training
  • Preparation of W-2 forms and ACA 1095-C forms
  • Issuing paychecks and managing direct deposits
  • Maintaining employee records
  • Coordinating with the HR department to ensure correct employee data
  • Providing administrative assistance to the accounting department
  • Assists with special projects as needed

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Degree in business administration, finance or accounting preferred
  • 2+ years of payroll experience
  • Proficiency with ADP WorkForceNow preferred
  • Organization, time management, and communication skills are a must
  • Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.
