RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Analyst in San Francisco, CA. We're looking for an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our fun, collaborative, and high-achieving team. Responsibilities:
  • Partner with other Payroll Analysts in all aspects of payroll processing from start to finish (e.g., assisting new hires, verifying employee data changes, auditing retro pay results, auditing pay inputs from 3rd-parties, processing on-cycle and off-cycle pay results, calculating vacation payouts and final paychecks, reviewing the work of other Payroll Analysts, and preparing W2s)
  • Own and administer the Time Tracking system for non-exempt employees
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and stakeholder reporting requests with excellent customer service
  • Work with our payroll tax vendor to meet tax filing and remittance obligations, file amendments, register in new states, and resolve tax notices timely
  • Partner with our Benefits, HR, Legal, Tax, Internal Systems, and Global Mobility teams to improve processes and roll out new policies
  • Research payroll issues independently, demonstrating high analytical ability, knowledge of best practices, and an understanding of federal and state payroll tax and labor law developments
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies that support company growth and evolving business needs
  • Improve the documentation of internal payroll policies and procedures
  • Assist with payroll accounting as needed
  • Assist with internal and external audit support


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years experience processing multistate payroll for 3,000+ US employees
  • 2+ years of experience using Workday Payroll
  • Reliability, punctuality, and an overall strong work ethic
  • A clear and friendly communication style, both written and verbal
  • A mind for detail-you can tell when something's off, and you won't rest until it's fixed
  • Strong multistate tax expertise across a wide range of earnings and benefits
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and judgment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as ability to collaborate closely with a team that is distributed remotely due to COVID-19
  • Strong Excel and Google Sheet skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality
  • Flexibility to adapt within a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits
  • Completed Workday Payroll Fundamentals training
  • Experience processing stock payrolls
  • Familiarity with Workday's HCM, Benefits, and Report Writer modules
  • Familiarity with global mobility tax considerations
  • Accounting experience (journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations)
  • Experience processing payroll in a public company of 5,000+ employees
