Payroll Manager

Our client is growing rapidly and seeking a payroll expert to develop strong processes, implement new systems and develop a team that can operate a best in class Payroll Department. This is a great opportunity to take the lead on a number of initiatives and projects, while also developing a staff.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Manager include:

  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of payroll staff
  • Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements
  • Lead systems implementations as need to improve payroll process efficency
  • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely preparation and distribution of payroll including salaries, benefits, garnishments, withholding taxes, and other deductions.
  • Support equity compensation transactions (RSU and Warrant Exercises) by executing payroll withholding taxes (next day deposit rule) and issuing net remit settlement payments to employees.
  • Create and schedule payroll and headcount related reports.
  • Update and present payroll related data metrics.
  • Utilizing ADP, prepare and balance relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end Tax filing reports
  • Prepare and review payroll GL account reconciliations
  • Maintain proper benefit and deduction balances
  • Review and improve payroll policies and procedures
  • Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Interpret new legislation impacting payroll
  • Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production
  • Payroll Module lead during HRIS system patch and upgrade testing.
  • Performance manage and develop payroll staff

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited university
  • 8+ years of Payroll experience
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing tools
  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to meet key deliverables.
  • Able to work cross functionally with multiple departments
