This position requires that candidates provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination after receiving a conditional job offer at least 7 days prior to their start date. "Fully vaccinated" means that at least two weeks have passed since you received 1) your second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or 2) one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Goodwill SoCal seeks an experience Payroll Supervisor to oversee company's payroll system and manage the payroll team. The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the processing and administration of bi-weekly payroll for 3,000+ employees. Per government requirements, this role required to be fully COVID- 19 vaccinated.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Researches payroll discrepancy and takes immediate corrective action when necessary. Reports unusual practices and discovery to immediate supervisor.
  • Processes Federal and State taxes bi-weekly, posts all payroll related expenses and accruals to general ledger as required.
  • Coordinates with Accounting, HR operations and other departments to address specific concerns and needs of individual department.
  • Revises payroll processing procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy, as needed.
  • Monitors the reconciliation of garnishments, tax levies and pay advance reimbursements.
  • Balances reports before Month End Up-Date. Assist in preparing journal entries and reviewing reports as required; Balances all reports for closing quarter.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; developing, rewarding, developing and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Ensures all payroll staff is cross-trained and attends training to keep payroll administration knowledge up-to-date.
  • Education & Experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience required.
  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience required.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required. College degree preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPR) certificate preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in Ceridian Dayforce payroll environment.
  • Microsoft software - MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Must able to multi-task and work with all levels of employees.
  • Good communication skills with excellent customer relations abilities.
  • Attention to details, observation of privacy and high degree of professionalism are required.
  • Spanish / English bilingual preferred.
