RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Tacoma, WA that is searching for a Payroll Tax Accountant. Overview:

• Manages the filing of all local, state, and federal payroll taxes using ADP Employment Tax Services
• Responsible for maintaining compliance with all entities and to conduct in-depth research of new tax laws and regulations
• Oversees all aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual Payroll tax processes
• Audits final Payroll processing on a bi-weekly basis
• Responsible for all oversight of department projects and interaction with business partners

Essential Duties:

• Responsible for accurate and timely submission of monthly, quarterly and annual state (multiple) and federal payroll taxes
• Audits key activities related to each payroll processing close
• Leads key department and cross functional projects; develops project plan, assigns tasks, testing and ensure work effort completes on time
• Remains updated on mandates and changes related to state and federal payroll taxes
• Executes ad-hoc reports and develops data extracts
• Assists with system upgrades and performs regression testing on fixes and enhancements
• Performs post implementation quality assurance, trouble-shooting and issue resolution
• Payroll tax SME
• Completes balances to ADP Tax Payment Systems
• Corrects any discrepancies between Workday and ADP
• Prepares materials for external or internal auditors
• Knowledge of Workday helpful
• Ensures all year end processes are reconciled timely and accurately including W-2s
• Assists in the administration of our Deferred Compensation plan

REQUIREMENTS:

• BA degree required
• 5 years of relevant experience required
• Working knowledge of multistate payroll tax rules
• Experience managing payroll department projects
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
