RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS

  • PA Peer Specialist Certification preferred but is NOT required.
  • Bachelor's degree in social services + 1 year practical experience OR High School equivalency and 4 years paid direct care experience. PA Peer Specialist Certification preferred. Must self-identify as having a history of receiving state-priority group services for serious mental illness.
  • Must have a valid PA driver's license
  • Will need access to a vehicle and must be able to drive a 15-passenger van.
SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with flexibility to meet the needs of the persons served.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking an Enhanced Clinical Service Coordination Peer Specialist to provide social support through structured and unstructured evening and weekend-evening group activities. Supports may include transporting and accompanying groups of individuals to AA/NA meetings. The candidate must possess the ability to facilitate community therapeutic/process groups and recreational activities. Facilitating peer support groups in the community. The position may also include assistance and training in daily living skills such as: bathing and hygiene, grocery and clothes shopping, meal preparation and budgeting, obtaining legal assistance and counseling and in dealing with agencies such as police, health department and the courts.. This position requires the candidate to transport consumers in an agency vehicle on a regular basis. Maintains clinical records according to agency policies and procedures.
