The University of Miami Hospital has several exciting opportunities for Pharmacy Technician and Sr Pharmacy Technicians.

Full Time positions are eligible for Sign-On Bonus

The Pharmacy Technician (U) compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist. Moreover, an employee in this position performs clerical duties relating to the department, and receives and stores incoming supplies. The Pharmacy Technician (U) also verifies stock and enters data into the computer to maintain accurate and complete inventory records.

  • Weighs, counts, measures, and mixes medication.
  • Handles inventory to ensure that the pharmacy is appropriately stocked.
  • Receives written prescriptions, fills prescriptions or refill requests, and verifies that information is complete and accurate.
  • Answers telephones and responds to questions or requests.
  • Fills bottles with prescribed medications, and types and affixes labels.
  • Assists customers by answering simple questions, locating items, and referring them to the appropriate staff.
  • Establishes and maintains patient profiles and records.
  • Transfers medication from vials to the appropriate number of sterile and disposable syringes using aseptic techniques.
  • Supplies and monitors robotic machines that dispense medicine into containers.
  • Prepares and processes medical insurance claim forms and handles insurance claim records.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • State of Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician License
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
